  Macdonald Firmly hall Hotel & Spa Achieves Silver At Cancer Research Relay For LIfe

  A team from Macdonald Frimley Hall Hotel & Spa, near Camberley was recently awarded a silver certificate by Cancer Research UK for raising £4,756 at the charity’s 24-hour Ascot Relay for Life summer event.


The award was presented to the fifteen ‘Frimleyhall Stars’ team members at a wrap party after all the donations had been collected and totaled.
 

To take part members of the team took turns to walk around the track from 12 noon on Saturday, 20th July until 12 noon the next day to show that cancer never sleeps. Over 35 teams were involved with the overnight event raising a grand total of £96,259.78.

The ‘Frimleyhall Stars’ took second place raising funds through online donations, cake sales in the hotel, a raffle for a Decléor goody bag and a guess the weight of a cake competition;  the cakes were made by a local supplier, Jeni’s Cakes & Flowers.

  spaHoola Spa is opening Friday at the Honua Kai Resort & Spa condo resort property on Kaanapali Beach on Maui and will offer treatments from Malie Organics, a Kauai-based luxury beauty brand.
The 3,000-square-foot spa faces the hotel lobby and has an unobstructed glass entryway that leads into three expansive treatment rooms, including an exclusive Himalayan salt room. An additional open-air cabana village will be available in 2014, and will offer a variety of massages and body treatments.

The spa will also serve as a gallery space for Maui artists to submit for display and sell their artwork. All jury fees will be 100 percent donated to support arts education on the island of Maui.

  Greece promotes spa tourism

  Club Oasis – Fitness Centre and Spa 2A workshop on spa tourism will be conducted in Athens, Greece on September 25. The workshop will involve discussions on the contribution of spa tourism in Greece and ways to attract investments in this area.The workshop entitled Spa tourism for a new growth strategy will be held at the Titania Hotel.

This workshop is organized by the Central Union of Municipalities in Greece (KEDE) in cooperation with the Association of Municipalities of Thermal Springs in Greece. The workshop will include speeches by the Minister of Interior Giannis Michelakis, the Minister of Health Adonis Georgiadis, the Minister of Tourism Olga Kefalogianni and the Minister of Macedonia-Thrace Theodoros Karaoglou. The President of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels Giorgos Tsakiris and Greek National Tourism Organization President Christos Pallis will be among the guest speakers.
