The wine industry is trying to make a name for itself beyond the island, but the heat increases are changing the chemical composition of the grapes which changes the taste of the wine and not for the better.

While European tourists edged the industry toward recovery last year, the upswing this summer is led largely by Americans, boosted by a strong dollar and in some cases pandemic savings.

Egypt will also seek to persuade Iran to drop or reduce its support for Hamas and Islamic Jihad, the two main Palestinian militant groups in the Gaza Strip, which borders Egypt, according to officials.
